This is my side of the story of how Jonathan and I meet

Liz, my best friend, really wanted me to go dancing with her. I was not felling good that night, in fact I had a migraine. She had gone out with a guy she really liked about a week ago, and he was going to be there. So, to Support her, I bucked up and decided to go along with a bottle of painkillers in my purse. Who would have guessed that I was going to fall in love?

The dance we were going to had the theme of a luau. This was good for me since I did not feel like dressing up. With little time to prepare, I threw on a dark blue pair of hip hugger jeans, a soft eyelet tank top and wrapped a lava lava around my waste. I twisted my hair into little braids and curls, and used just a little makeup to give me that sun-kissed look.

Liz and I walked into the dance and got mobbed by a group of guys; one of the guys had a crush on Liz. As I was being introduced to all of these guys I found my self in front of a man with a familiar face. He introduced himself as Jonathan. I had a secret crush on him for a few months, but had never met him. We got to talking and decided that he needed my lava lava more then I did. He was a little overdressed; he was wearing a dressy shirt and shoes, and needed something to help him loosen up. So I took it off my hips and tied it on his.

Jonathan and I danced most of the night and when he stayed it wasn’t long before he came back so that I could fix the lava lava that he kept shaking off of his hips. We were slow dancing when he asked me out on a date, not being myself, I was shy and usually would have tried to get out of it, I said “okay lets go”. He sad good-bye to his friends. Liz was not having much fun, so I grabbed her and the three of us left.

We decided to go down to the bay. I did not know my way around town, so I gave him the keys to my car. We went to three different parks on the bay, climbing rocks and walking one the beach. Mw talked about our lives, our family and our friends. When it came time t leave he grabbed my phone and put his number in it, making me promise I would call, and then got my number.

After I dropped Jonathan off at his car, Liz and I went home. I went up to my mothers room and told her all about my night. This was something I always did; she loved to hear my stories.

My family is huge. I am the youngest of nine kids. We all lived very close and were pretty open about everything. The next morning before I even got up word had gotten around. My older sister Lori decide that she needed to hear the story from me, so she decide to wake me up and drag me around with her as she got ready for the day. As we were driving to the store my phone rang. I knew it was Jonathan even before I answered it. He was calling to see if I wanted to go on a real date because he thought the night before did not count. Before I could answer Lori grabbed the phone, she told him that my family would love to meet him, and that he should come over to the Birthday Party. She then handed the phone back to me and we set it up.

As I said before, my family is huge, and I was scared to death that they would scare Jonathan off. That could not have been further from the truth. He came in and soaked them up. My family fell in love with him, and he fell in love with my family.

Since the first night Jonathan and I had met we were inseparable. We have always felt as though we have known each other forever.

Looking back at the night we first met, we laugh. Jonathan was supposed to meet a different girl that night for a double date. I did not want to go, and was planning on hiding in the back while Liz had fun. Who would have guessed that I was going to find the man of my dreams, the man that I am going to spend the rest of my life with, the man that I love?

Disclosure

This is a blog from my memory, not factual, so if you remember something different write your own blog about it. I also never said that I am a pro at writing so if you see something spelled wrong and formatted wrong sorry.

Now on to Jonathan

Jonathan was the first born in his family, and after hearing about the long hard labor his mom had I can’t believe he is not the only. He was born in Bellingham Washington. I was shocked to find out that he lived his whole life in one house when I meet him. It was important to his parents to give him that stability. He has a very loving family who always got the best for him. Jonathan loved to play sports and pester his little brother. He enjoyed going hiking with his grandpa and watching sports with his papa. He spent a lot of time at Disney Land growing up and has passed his love for it onto me. Jonathan spent a lot of time scouting with his father and brother and his brother and him got there Eagle Scout awards together. All in all he had a wonderful childhood.
I know that it is not fair that my history is so long and his so short but come on I am the one writing it.

The Start

I was thinking about how to start a blog and decided to start by telling you a little about my husband and myself.
Ladies First
I was born in Alaska to a wonderful large family with eight siblings and amazing parents. Although I love to say that I was born in Alaska I hate when anyone starts to ask me questions about it. You see, we moved from Alaska when I was four and the truth is I only have a few memories about Alaska and they don’t have any thing to do with Alaska. One that sticks out in my head is on my fourth Birthday party. My brother/buddy Ted was on his mission in Pennsylvania and he sent me the biggest chocolate candy bar that I had ever seen for my birthday. I remember walking around handing out pieces of my birthday chocolate to everyone there. Of course the first thing that I remembered was chocolate.
When I was four we moved to Idaho to be closer to my extended family. My Grandma Callahan had just passed away and we wanted to be there for my Grandpa. I was a crazy kid. I remember that I love living at grandpas, I would run wild and climb fences, play in the barn and climb trees. I also loved to feed the calves with grandpa. I remember one time my best friend Katie and I decided that we would drive my grandpas truck one of us would push the petals and the other would steer. We only went a about a yard before we hit a trailer with it. Man did I get in trouble. I also remember how my mother used to take us to pick lilacs from my grandma’s tree to bring to her grave site every birthday that we lived in Idaho. My mom told me that when my grandma was stuck in bed sick she loved to have a room full of lilacs.
Well, I lived in Idaho for a little over ten years moving from Nampa to Caldwell and on to Garden Valley. Caldwell will always hold some precious moments for me. I remember that I would lay in bed with mom and she would tell me stories from her past about boyfriend and how she new my dad since she was a young girl and all of the times she could remember growing up with him.
We lived in this way to big gray house that was surrounded by farm land and had a big barn behind it. I loved to walk down the dirt road, climb the big haystacks, have big parties in the huge yard and play on the spinning seesaw. Our house was so big that we had many cool people live with us and stay with us. It was a very fun time n my life.
When we moved to Garden Valley we lived in a rustic cabin on a golf course with a club house that had a hot spring swimming pool. As you can guess I had way to much fun living there. We swam year round, raced golf carts and played in the forest, a good place for a young teenager to get into trouble. This was a wonderful time where I bounded with my parents. I would help them with work, go on walks, and watch the stars with them. This is where I had my first real kiss and my first boyfriend. I also had some of the strongest friendships I have ever had. I will always be sad that I did not keep in contact with them.
Anyway, I think that I moved to Washington when I was fourteen. We moved to Ocean Shores where my sister Verlee lived. This was more of an adventure to me. I was so stubborn and mad at my parents for moving ma away from the man I was in love with that I rebelled by refusing to go to school. Wow was I stupid. So I moved in with Verlee and did random stuff to keep myself busy. I learned how to cook and sew. I played with my family on the beach and had a few friends that I sent a lot of time with.
I moved to Bellingham right before I turned 16. At this point I have lived here for ten years and yes that does make me feel old. I have made some of the beast friends and have had so much fun here that I doubt I will ever leave.
Well here is my summery of life before Jonathan. I will tell you about the last seven years after I tell you about Jonathan.
